چکیده

Abstract Wide-field small aperture optical telescopes are widely used in large-scale surveys currently and they have made great contributions a number of astronomical applications. However, specific challenges arise owing to the defects caused by system, image quality reduction precision negatively affected. An innovative method is proposed address these achieve high-precision source intensity estimation. In implementation, first dedicated pipeline developed investigate point-spread function (PSF) components from large amounts images, using principal component analysis. Then PSF model that reveals actual characteristics system constructed based on evaluation. Last equations for centroid estimation results obtained. A trial observations performed with wide-field telescope, raw as well simulated acquired test efficiency our method. The measurement other common algorithms, including modified moment, Gaussian fitting, SExtractor. Based comparison it demonstrated outperforms others. indicate explores limitations such additional gains can be achieved wider

Wide-field tracking with zenith-pointing telescopes

Equipped with a suitable optical relay system, telescopes employing low-cost fixed primary mirrors could point and track while delivering high-quality images to a fixed location. Such an optical tracking system would enable liquid-mirror telescopes to access a large area of sky and employ infrared detectors and adaptive optics. Such telescopes could also form the elements of an array in which l...

PSF Estimation of Space-Variant Ultra-Wide Field of View Imaging Systems

Ultra-wide-field of view (UWFOV) imaging systems are affected by various aberrations, most of which are highly angle-dependent. A description of UWFOV imaging systems, such as microscopy optics, security camera systems and other special space-variant imaging systems, is a difficult task that can be achieved by estimating the Point Spread Function (PSF) of the system. This paper proposes a novel...

Generic Misalignment Aberration Patterns in Wide-Field Telescopes

Axially symmetric telescopes produce well known “Seidel” off-axis third-order aberration patterns: coma, astigmatism, curvature of field and distortion. When axial symmetry is broken by the small misalignments of optical elements, additional third-order aberration patterns arise: one each for coma, astigmatism and curvature of field and two for distortion. Each of these misalignment patterns is...

Line-source Modeling and Estimation with Electroencephalography

We develop three parametric models for electroencephalography (EEG) to estimate current sources that are spatially distributed on a line. We assume a realistic head model and solve the EEG forward problem using the boundary element method. We present the models with increasing degrees of freedom, provide the forward solutions, and derive the maximum likelihood estimates as well as Cramér-Rao bo...
